Chris Samuel has 20+ years of global communications and public affairs expertise in the food and agriculture (Bayer, Monsanto), consumer goods (P&G), healthcare (J&J), industrial (Siemens), and non-profit sectors in highly-regulated, fast-paced and matrix environments in developed and developing markets. He has a consistent record of award-winning results on reputation, communications [Cannes Lion], marketing, public policy, market access, sustainability, and crisis management. As CEO of C-SAM Global Public Affairs Strategy, he provides insight-led strategy and integrated services to enhance sustainability impacts, reputation, access, and people capability. As Director of Global Corporate Preparedness and Engagement at Bayer/Monsanto, he led strategy to promote and protect the world #1 agriculture company’s reputation, biotech and data science technologies on sustainability, human rights, transparency, safety, and trade issues. He also led strategy to shape stakeholder awareness and public policy on gene editing and GMOs. He also led 15+ NGO and Government partnerships on nutrition security, sustainable agriculture and landscapes, education, and housing with Conservation International, UNICEF, Habitat for Humanity, Room to Read, Child Rights and You, and others. Chris served as the Chair of CropLife’s Communications Committee, Co-Chair of the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council Food & Agriculture Committee, and represented Bayer at BIO, Consumer Brands Association, World Economic Forum, World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and CRISPRcon Advisory Council. He was an Adjunct Professor of Corporate Affairs at the Singapore Management University, and Xavier Institute of Communications. Chris is also a Board Member at STAGES St. Louis, and Co-founder of Thespo - India’s #1 youth theatre festival.
