Kat Wheeler, B.A

Program Director and Senior Fellow

In her position as Program Director for the ISGP, Kat Wheeler plays an integral leadership role in the conceptualization, design, organization, and implementation of ISGP programs. Kat initiated her work at the ISGP in 2019 as Associate Program Director for the FDA sponsored ISGP Innovative Foods and Ingredients Conference in June 2019 which engaged over 70 senior leaders from the private sector, public advocacy, governmental, and scientific and technological communities. Subsequently, Kat has engaged in topics spanning food traceability, climate impacts on agriculture, plant breeding, agricultural sustainability, communication and food labeling, medical supply chain security, and veterinary medical countermeasures, among others. Prior to her time at the ISGP, Kat carried out work in support of farm to school in Michigan, conducted research on coffee farmers' views on third party certifications in Costa Rica, and volunteered for farmworker rights in Florida. Kat received a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Biology from Eckerd College.
